
Young Canadians in Finance was founded by Michael Blickstead and Paul Desmarais III in 2006. The organization continues to grow and aims to be the leading network for Young Canadians in Finance.
Michael Blickstead: Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Young Canadians in Finance. Michael graduated from Harvard College in 2005. He currently works at Goldman Sachs in their Private Equity Group.
Paul Desmarais III: Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Young Canadians in Finance. Paul Desmarais III graduated from Harvard College in 2004. He worked at Goldman Sachs in their Investment Banking Division, Investment Strategy Group, and Special Situations Group. He is currently studying at INSEAD.
Marc Andre Nantais: Co-President of Young Canadians in Finance. Marc Andre graduated from HEC in 2003. He is currently at Goldman Sachs in their Sales and Trading Division.
Richard Lam: Co-President of Young Canadians in Finance. Richard graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 2005. He currently works at TorQuest Partners, a leading Canadian mid-cap private equity firm.
Dominic Becotte: Vice President and Head of YCIF New York. Dominic graduated from HEC-Montreal in 1999. He currently works at Messier Partners in their Investment Banking Group - NYC.
Nicolas Desmarais: Vice President and Head of YCIF San Francisco. Nicolas Desmarais graduated from Amherst College in 2007. He currently works at Bain Consulting.
Simon Dupéré: Vice-President and Head of YCIF Montreal. Simon graduated from McGill University in 2003. He is the President of Catsima, a widely diversified financial holding company.
Daniel Forest: Treasurer, Vice-President and Co-Head of YCIF Toronto. Daniel graduated from McGill University in 2004. He currently works at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Financial Services sector of the Audit & Assurance Group.
Brett Hickey: Vice President of Finance. Brett graduated from McGill University. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Aegis Capital Group.
Svetlana Goubanova: Vice-President and Head of YCIF Washington, DC. Svetlana graduated from McGill Mathematics in 2006 and currently works at the World Bank. Previously she modeled alternative investment strategies for Rydex SGI. Washington, DC chapter works closely with the Embassy of Canada and World Bank / IMF Canada Club networks.
Emily Paddon: Vice President of Political Relations. Emily graduated from Brown University in 2004. She is currently a doctoral candidate and Trudeau scholar in International Relations at the University of Oxford. Previously, she worked at Goldman Sachs in their Investment Banking Division.
David Spoore: Vice President and Co-Head of YCIF Toronto. David graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2005. He currently works at HSBC in the Investment Banking Group.
Clifford Work: Vice President of Legal. Clifford graduated from McGill University Faculty of Law in 2001. He currently works at Sidley Austin LLP in their Corporate/Finance Practice Group.
Matthew Thomas: Vice President and Head of YCIF Ottawa. Matthew graduated from York University. He currently works for the Government of Canada. Previously, he worked at Morgan Stanley in the Investment Banking Division. |
