Young Canadians in Finance Montreal is pleased to invite you to a private tour of the large National Bank Collection with curator Jo-Anne Kane.

During this evening, in addition to admiring artwork, we will have the opportunity to taste alcohol and appetizers during a networking cocktail.

With over 7,000 original works of art, the distinctive National Bank Collection ranks as one of the largest corporate collections in Canada and reflects the history of Quebec and Canadian art from 1895 to the present. Jo-Ann Kane will guide you through the collection and present the major pieces.

Jo-Ann Kane is a certified member of the ISA (International Society of Appraisers) and her academic training includes a Master's degree in Museology and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She has been the curator of the National Bank of Canada’s Collection since 2002. She is also the President of the Association of Corporate Collections for Québec, an organization that brings together curators and owners of corporate collections in an effort to maximize their visibility and promote art to the business community.

After 12 years as the Head Curator for National Bank of Canada, she established Jo-Ann Kane Art Advisory based in Montreal. From 1997 to 2000, she served as curator of Hydro-Québec's art collection. In her capacity as a consultant and invited curator, Jo-Ann Kane carried out several important projects. Among her principal clients are Groupe Lune Rouge, Deloitte (Canada) Rio Tinto (Canada), Price Water House (Ottawa), Standard Life (Canada), Standard Life Investments, SDC du Village, Norton Rose and Metfin Group (Toronto).

In 2010, she was appointed Faculty of Arts ambassador for her alma matter, UQÀM. In 2013, she was appointed to the Quebec government’s working group on philanthropy in arts and culture. She is also a board member of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and member of the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec’s acquisition committee.

Price: 35$ for members, 60$ for non-members (alcohol and appetizers will be served)
